AMEDD Student Recruiter Program: Part time commitment, full-time rewards
Medical, dental, and masters-level physician assistant students in the Army National Guard may be eligible to be placed on full-time orders for up to three years while they are in school.  Participants in the ASR Program will be paid as full-time Army officers and receive all the benefits of active-duty soldiers to include health-insurance, housing and living allowances, and 30 days of paid vacation per year!

Qualifying for the program is easy: students must join the Army National Guard and be enrolled in good standing or have a firm unconditional written acceptance from an accredited professional school leading to a degree in allopathic medicine (MD), osteopathic medicine (DO), dentistry (DDS or DMD), or a masters level physician assistant studies program (PA) in the United States or Puerto Rico. 

Once in the program, ASR participants are obligated to assist local medical recruiters to recruit medical, dental, and physician assistant students in their respective schools and degree programs.  This could include helping recruiters with presentations to fellow students, participating in local student organizations as a representative of the Army National Guard, or simply maintaining brochures and recruiting information within the school.

As a Guard physician, you'll receive a Medical Corps commission in the Army National Guard Medical Department (AMEDD). You will be recognized as both a military officer and a highly skilled medical professional. You'll have the authority and support you need to get the job done, in addition to the traditional respect and privileges due the rank. You'll work side-by-side with heroes who shared battlefield experiences in previous generations. And you'll feel an undeniable sense of pride and camaraderie when you don the uniform of a commissioned officer in the Army National Guard Medical Department.

Benefits of Being a National Guard Dentist
By becoming a Guard dentist, you may qualify for one or both of our incentive programs.   Army National Guard dentists play a vital role in keeping America's servicemen and women in top condition. As a Guard dentist, you'll be part of the multidisciplinary team responsible for keeping these Soldiers in top physical condition. At the same time, you'll bond with men and women who may one day become civilian patients.
